Genesis 1-iv:xvi
The Biblical story of the Creation of the Universe and the Fall of Human
The post-obit excerpt is from the Authorized Version of 1611. (This is also known as the "King James Version," considering it was deputed by King James I of England, who lived 1566-1625, and reigned from 1603 until his death. Information technology is the translation that, ever since, because of its ability of phrasing, has had the greatest bear on on English literature in general.)

IN the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the world was without grade, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
iii And God said, Let in that location be calorie-free: and in that location was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And God called the lite Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
vi And God said, Let at that place be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were nether the empyrean from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was and so.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the 2nd day.
nine And God said, Let the waters nether the sky be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land announced: and information technology was so.
10 And God called the dry out land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that information technology was expert.
eleven And God said, Permit the globe bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit later on is kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the globe: and it was then.
12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed afterwards his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15 And let them be for lights in the empyrean of the heaven to requite light upon the earth: and it was so.
16 And God fabricated ii great lights; the greater light to rule the twenty-four hour period, and the lesser low-cal to dominion the night: he made the stars also.
17 And God ready them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth.
18 And to dominion over the solar day and over the night, and to divide the calorie-free from the darkness: and God saw that information technology was expert.
19 And the evening and the forenoon were the fourth 24-hour interval.
20 And God said, Permit the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the world in the open up firmament of sky.
21 And God created cracking whales, and every living animate being that moveth, which the waters brought along abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl later his kind: and God saw that it was good.
22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23 And the evening and the morning were the 5th day.
24 And God said, Allow the world bring along the living creature later on his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and animal of the globe afterward his kind: and it was so.
25 And God made the fauna of the globe after his kind, and cattle subsequently their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the world subsequently his kind: and God saw that information technology was good.
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have rule over the fish of the bounding main, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own paradigm, in the paradigm of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and furnish the earth, and subdue it: and take rule over the fish of the body of water, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29 And God said, Behold, I have given yous every herb bearing seed, which is the upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you lot it shall exist for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the world, wherein in that location is life, I accept given every green herb for meat: and it was and then.
31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morn were the sixth twenty-four hour period.
Chapter 2
THUS the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2 And on the 7th day God ended his piece of work which he had fabricated; and he rested on the 7th 24-hour interval from all his work which he had fabricated.
3 And God blest the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
4 And these are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,
5 And every plant of the field earlier it was in the globe, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had non caused it to pelting upon the earth, and there was non a homo to till the ground.
6 But there went upward a mist from the globe, and watered the whole face up of the ground.
7 And the Lord God formed man of the grit of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and homo became a living soul.
8 And the Lord God planted a garden due east in Eden; and there he put the homo whom he had formed.
9 And out of the basis made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of skilful and evil.
ten And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into 4 heads.
eleven The name of the first is Pison: that is which compasseth the whole state of Havilah, where there is gold;
12 And the gilt of that land is skillful; at that place is bdellium and the onyx stone.
13 And the proper name of the second river is Gihon: the same is information technology that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
14 And the proper name of the third river is Kiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
15 And the Lord God took the human being, and put him into the garden of Eden to clothes it and to keep it.
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden k mayest freely eat:
17 Just of the tree of the knowledge of adept and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the 24-hour interval that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
18 And the Lord God said, It is not adept that the homo should be alone; I will make him a help run across for him.
19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every animate being of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would telephone call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam at that place was not found a help run into for him.
21 And the Lord God acquired a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept; and he took 1 of his ribs, and airtight upward the flesh instead thereof.
22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from human being, fabricated he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now os of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Adult female, because she was taken out of man.
24 Therefore shall a human leave his male parent and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be i flesh.

2 And the woman said unto the serpent, Nosotros may swallow of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 Simply of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall non eat of information technology, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
four And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the 24-hour interval ye swallow thereof, and then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that information technology was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to exist desired to brand i wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
vii And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and fabricated themselves aprons.
8 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the twenty-four hours: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.
ix And the Lord god called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art k?
x And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

12 And the man said, The woman whom 1000 gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
13 And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that 1000 hast done? And the adult female said, The ophidian beguiled me, and I did swallow.
fourteen And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed higher up all cattle, and to a higher place every beast of the field: upon thy belly shalt thou become, and dust shalt chiliad eat all the days of thy life:
xv And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

17 And unto Adam he said, Considering grand hast hearkened unto the vocalisation of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, maxim, M shalt non consume of it: cursed is the basis for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou consume of information technology all the days of thy life;
18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt consume the herb of the field:
19 In the sweat of thy face shat thou swallow breadstuff, till one thousand return unto the ground; for out of it was m taken: for dust yard fine art, and to dust shalt thou render.
xx And Adam called his wife'due south name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

4 And Abel, he too brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
5 But unto Cain and to his offer he had non respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why fine art grand wroth? and why is thy eyebrow fallen?
7 If grand doest well, shalt grand non exist accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door: and unto thee shall be his want, and thou shalt rule over him.
8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
nine And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy blood brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?
10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy blood brother's claret crieth unto me from the ground.
11 And now fine art one thousand cursed from the globe, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy blood brother's blood from thy hand.
12 When thousand tillest the basis, it shall non henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the world.
13 And Cain said unto the Lord, My penalization is greater than I can bear.
14 Behold, m hast driven me out this twenty-four hours from the face of the globe; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall exist a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come up to laissez passer, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.
15 And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain lest any finding him should impale him.
16 And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the eastward of Eden.
